Role & Job Openings:
Qualcomm is currently running an off-campus hiring drive for various entry-level roles including:
- Associate Engineer (Software)
- Associate Engineer (Hardware)
- WLAN Associate Test Engineer
- Interim Engineering Intern (Software)
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on the specific role, selected candidates may be expected to:
- Develop real-time embedded software and device drivers.
- Work on platform-level software: Linux, Android, Windows, and Board Support Packages (BSP).
- Implement or test wireless modem technologies including 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.
- Handle multimedia software (audio/video codecs, imaging).
- Test networking protocols and wireless standards for the test engineer role, especially WLAN, TCP/IP, or IEEE 802.11.
- Create, track, and close test automation suites, report defects, and collaborate closely with development teams.
- Write technical documentation, participate in code reviews, regression testing, and integration efforts.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Information Systems, or a related field.
- ECE, EE, or similar engineering disciplines are also eligible for many roles.
Skills / Knowledge Areas:
- Strong programming skills in C / C++, and object-oriented design.
- Solid understanding of Operating Systems, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with wireless network standards (e.g., CDMA, GSM, UMTS, LTE) for software roles.
- Experience or knowledge in Linux / UNIX, kernel development, device driver development.
- For test role: Networking protocols, WLAN (802.11) standards, scripting languages (Python, TCL, Perl) for test automation.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, good communication, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
