Karimnagar Collector Pamela Satpathy Pushes for Drug-Free District, Honors Staff for Stopping Child Marriages
Karimnagar District Collector Pamela Satpathy has made a strong appeal to the public to make the district “drug-free.” Speaking at a recent event organized under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), she urged citizens to join hands in raising awareness and eliminating drug abuse from the community.
As part of the drive, Satpathy participated in a rangoli competition along Karimnagar Club road, where participants – mostly women and college students – created rangolis that illustrated the harmful effects of narcotic addiction. She emphasized that addiction is pushing many young people into darkness and called for continuous community education through creative outreach like wall paintings, seminars, and local art.
In addition to her anti-drug campaign, Satpathy also honored district employees who have played a vital role in preventing child marriages. While details of the awards were not fully disclosed, the recognition reflects the administration’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable children.
The Collector’s dual focus on drug prevention and child welfare sends a strong message: public safety and social responsibility go hand in hand. By combining awareness programs with formal recognition of good work, Satpathy is building a model for community-driven change in Karimnagar.
