Trump Russia Sanctions Update: Trump Warns of “Very Powerful” New Sanctions as Deadline Given to Ukraine
US President Donald Trump has announced that strong new sanctions on Russia are coming soon, insisting that the current restrictions on Russian oil will remain in place.
Trump also confirmed that he has given Ukraine a November 27 deadline to accept his proposed peace plan, claiming Ukraine is “losing territory” and that President Putin “does not want to continue the war.”
The proposal — which Ukraine has not yet agreed to — would require Kyiv to make major concessions, including territorial compromises in the Donbas region. Trump argued that without a deal, Ukraine risks losing even more land.
The comments signal rising pressure from Washington, as the conflict enters a critical phase and diplomatic negotiations intensify ahead of the deadline.
