1. 42% Reservation for Backward Classes in Local Body Elections
   The Cabinet approved 42% reservation for BCs in upcoming Gram Panchayat elections as per existing rules. However, elections to Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC) have been postponed in light of ongoing court cases.
2. Risk of Losing ₹3,000 Crore Central Funds
   Officials warned that delay in conducting ZPTC/MPTC elections beyond March 2026 may lead to forfeiture of ₹3,000 crore allocated by the 15th Finance Commission.
3. Renaming of SRSP Canal
   The Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) Flood Flow Canal will now be officially named “Ramreddy Damodar Reddy Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme Canal” in honour of the veteran Congress leader.
4. Tribute to Legendary Poet Ande Sri
   The government decided to appoint the son of late poet-revolutionary Ande Sri to a suitable government post and construct “Ande Sri Kala Vanam” – a memorial cultural park in his native village.

Cabinet StatementChief Minister A.
