
More than 40 Indian Umrah pilgrims from Hyderabad died in a tragic bus accident near Mufrihat in Saudi Arabia on the Mecca–Madinah highway. The bus caught fire after hitting a bridge, and many passengers could not escape in time.
Most of the pilgrims belonged to areas in Hyderabad and Telangana. Officials confirmed that the bus was part of an Umrah tour group traveling from Mecca to Madinah. Local people rushed to the spot and helped the injured before rescue teams arrived.
Saudi police and emergency medical teams started rescue work quickly. They shifted the injured pilgrims to nearby hospitals. Indian Embassy officials also reached the hospital and are working to identify the victims.
Families in Hyderabad are waiting for updates about their loved ones. Indian authorities are in touch with Saudi officials to bring back the bodies after identification.
