New Delhi, November 13, 2025:
In a major breakthrough in the Red Fort car bomb blast case, Delhi Police have officially confirmed that Dr. Umar Un Nabi, a 32-year-old medical professor from Jammu and Kashmir, was the man who carried out the deadly explosion near the historic Red Fort on November 10, 2025.
The confirmation came after a DNA test matched samples collected from the remains found inside the blast vehicle with those taken from Dr. Nabi’s mother. According to forensic reports, his leg was discovered trapped between the steering wheel and the accelerator, confirming he was driving the car at the time of the explosion.
The Blast
The powerful blast occurred near Gate No. 1 of Red Fort Metro Station, killing nine people and injuring more than 20 others. The explosion caused massive damage to nearby vehicles and shops, sending shockwaves across Delhi.
Terror Links and Investigation
Investigators revealed that the attack was planned by a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)-linked terror module, involving several medical professionals from different states. Sources claim the group had plotted serial car bombings in four major Indian cities using 32 vehicles loaded with explosives.
Dr. Umar Un Nabi is believed to have been the key member of this network, working under handlers reportedly based in Turkey and Afghanistan. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police are continuing joint raids across India to trace other members of the terror cell.
Official Statement
A Delhi Police spokesperson said,
“The DNA test results have conclusively identified Dr. Umar Un Nabi as the individual who drove the car that exploded near Red Fort. The investigation now focuses on his network and international handlers.”
Nationwide Security Alert
Following the blast, security has been tightened across Delhi-NCR and other major cities. Intelligence agencies are also investigating whether the group had planned further attacks around December 6, a date reportedly marked by the suspects for another strike.
