300 kg Explosives and AK-47 Seized Near Delhi: Police Foil Major Terror Plot

In a major anti-terror operation, the police have seized around 300–360 kg of suspected explosive material and an AK-47 rifle with ammunition from a rented house in Faridabad, near Delhi. Officials say the timely action may have prevented a major terror attack in the National Capital Region.

A joint team of the Jammu & Kashmir Police and Haryana Police conducted the raid in the Dhauj area of Faridabad after receiving intelligence inputs. During the search, police discovered large quantities of chemical substances, believed to be ammonium nitrate, detonators, timers, and an AK-47 rifle.

Two suspects were taken into custody for questioning. Police sources said the arrested individuals might have links to terror groups operating from outside the state.

  • AK-47 rifle
  • Ammunition rounds
  • Detonators and electric timers
  • Mobile phones and documents
  • All the seized material has been sent to the forensic lab for chemical analysis to confirm its composition.

Senior officials said the recovery followed intelligence inputs from ongoing investigations into Delhi’s recent explosion cases. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) have joined the probe to trace the source and destination of the explosives.

Authorities believe the material could have been used to carry out a large-scale attack if not intercepted in time.

“This is one of the biggest recoveries in recent years. Investigations are ongoing to find out where the explosives came from and who the suppliers were,”
— Senior Police Officer, Faridabad.

Security has been tightened across Delhi-NCR. Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities at 100 or the nearest police station.
